Morning Light Over Myrtle Beach (2019) This moment was captured during my first visit to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and it left a lasting impression. Watching the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean was a completely different experience than what I’m used to on the West Coast. There, sunsets over the water are familiar. Here, the ocean greets the day. As the morning unfolded, the sky slowly shifted from soft blues to warm golds, reflecting off the calm waves and stretching across the shoreline. There was a quiet stillness in the air—one of those rare pauses where time feels unhurried and the world feels perfectly balanced. It was peaceful, grounding, and unexpectedly powerful. Seeing the sun emerge from the horizon over the ocean reminded me how travel has a way of re-framing what we think we know. Same sun, same ocean—yet a completely different perspective. Myrtle Beach offered more than just a destination; it offered a moment of reflection and appreciation for how place and timing can transform an experience. This sunrise was just the beginning.
