Vaca My Way Travel was founded in 2017 from a lifelong passion for exploring the world and helping others do the same. I was always the one planning trips for family and friends—it brought me so much joy to find the best deals, create itineraries, and share travel tips. Before long, coworkers and acquaintances were asking me for advice on destinations, bookings, and how to make travel more affordable. I live with my husband, Marshal, our two younger children, and our beloved standard poodle “Love,” who fittingly was born on Valentine’s Day in 2023. We also have two adult children who share our love of adventure. My passion for travel began when I left my small hometown of Fremont, North Carolina, to join the U.S. Navy in 1987. During my tours in San Diego and Pearl Harbor, I fell in love with seeing the world, experiencing new cultures, and tasting global cuisines. That experience shaped my life and inspired me to create a business that helps others discover that same excitement. Becoming a travel agent was truly the perfect path for me—I love helping people find the best destinations and most affordable ways to travel. Whether it’s families, couples, solo travelers, or my favorite—groups—I’m here to make every journey special. My slogan says it all: “Does your travel agent travel? I do!” As a Navy veteran, cruising will always have my heart. It’s one of the best ways to explore multiple destinations in one vacation, it’s cost-effective, and honestly, my best sleep is aboard a ship! Still, I’ve also enjoyed land vacations in some of the world’s most amazing places, including the stunning Marriott Marquis in Dubai. As a proud Navy vet, I believe in putting my heart and soul into everything I do.
